Early matters, but complete matters too
Submitting AADSAS early in the cycle is usually an advantage because verification, secondaries, and interview review all take time. But early does not mean careless.
A rushed personal statement, missing experience descriptions, or weak school list can cost more than a short delay used well.
A practical timeline
Aim to have your school list, personal statement, experience entries, transcript plan, and recommender asks ready before the application opens. Once AADSAS opens, the work should be assembly and polish, not discovery.
If your DAT is pending, decide whether your current school list is preliminary or whether waiting for the score materially changes where you should apply.
What to prioritize before submit
Prioritize the pieces schools see first: accurate coursework, clean personal statement, credible experience descriptions, and a school list that reflects your stats and residency.
